This Goode Classic Is Her Favorite Tune

If you’ve ever tuned in to the Murphy Goode TV blog (you’re here now silly rabbit) then you likely know that I, Lifestyle Correspondent Kamary Phillips, left my big love, our home in Hamburg Germany and marriage talks behind, in search of A REALLY GOODE JOB in Sonoma County, California. Somewhere I have never been before. And just like a situation from any modern day scripted reality TV series, it’s been an uphill and rocky road for our now long distance love affair ever since.

Despite new promises of a marriage in Sonoma should I actually land the position with the acclaimed Alexander Valley winery Murphy Goode (http://MurphyGoodeWinery.com) and a myriad of weekly Skypings, it’s been no easy task calming a woman’s yearning for the man she loves and repairing the damage made by a sudden, career driven separation. Men suck. Yes, me too.

In this clip, I found myself wandering in a random pub near closing time somewhere in Southern California hankering for a tall, frothy pint of Murphy Goode wine. Ok, I lied. It was Newcastle. Anyway, I had the idea to sing her one of her favorite diddies since it happened to be karaoke night.

Was the gesture enough for another moment of happiness? Will she jump the next airbus over the pond and join her man-to-be? Will your karaoke exploits be welcome additions to future Murphy Goode TV episodes? Will I come up with any more exciting inquiries?

Tune the heck in and find out! Follow Murphy Goode TV and me @MurphyGoodeTV on Twitter.

Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

16 Social Sites And Counting-Murphy Goode TV | MGtv

Whew, again!
We’re winding down to another moment of truth and I, like many, are anxiously excited about what is to come. As I prepare my own TOP 10 countdown list, hungover from last night’s 4th of July bash and as the folks at Murphy Goode consider me as a potential Top 10 candidate for A REALLY GOODE JOB and possibly hiring me as Murphy Goode’s Wine Country Lifestyle Correspondent, I think it’s important to be aware of and acknowledge the 16 MGtv social networking sites and platforms I have established thus far, essentially being the foundation and building blocks I could expand upon over the next months to come while adding others during my term holding this position. Just a thought of course. Either way, I hope my efforts make a positive impact on the review team and reveals some sense of my broader vision to continue transporting the Murphy Goode brand across the virtual land. Now back to my personal Top 10 Countdown which will be presented here and on MGtv Monday afternoon (July 6th) sometime. Click around and enjoy!

Black Market Wine Could Be Goode

In an effort to broaden my social horizons and at an attempt to widen MGtv’s viewership as well as transporting the Murphy Goode brand to yet a new, diverse audience for both parties, I’ve lightly tip toed into the dark side. No, I’m not worshiping the Devil of Wine, however flirting within the virtual atmosphere of Black Planet social network.

Murphy Goode TV Crosses Colour Lines

Murphy Goode TV Crosses Colour Lines

Since starting Murphy Goode TV as part of the now renown A REALLY GOODE JOB campaign, I have gathered hundreds of friends and followers, spread over a variety of social network platforms, fifteen (15) to be exact. I’ll outline those in a later post.

Of the many MGtv sites now in existence I must admit that one of the most exciting is BlackPlanet. Not necessarily due to any actual user experience, as I find the coding infrastructure far more inferior to that of similar social networks such as Facebook or Myspace; it’s bulky and slow but improving all the time. No, it’s exciting because of the untapped element of potential Murphy Goode Wine drinkers and the lack of wine culture throughout the black community in general. When polling 10 random black folks in Long Beach as to their favorite wines, 3 didn’t drink wine (just coolers), 5 liked Gallo and 2 Sutter. Yes, there’s work to be done. :)

Myself included, black folks over the decades have often associated wine with ‘uppity-yuppity whiteys’ and regardless of the colour of your skin, you’ll have to agree that media has more times than not portrayed it as such. For decades the black community was little portrayed in mainstream media as it were and far fewer times seen drinking classy wine. On the contrary, the image of the wine-o on the corner with cheap wine in a paper bag is what we were slated to be. It’s no wonder that the beverage has yet to penetrate this market to any major degree. As a Wine Country Lifestyle Correspondent I see clearly how I might contribute to broadening many black consumers’ old attitudes towards modern day wine culture.

That’s one of my plans and I’m sticking to it.
Cheers!

Introducing “It’s All Goode” – The Murphy Goode Song

The last couple days I’ve been working on a track for my video platform, Murphy Goode TV and I thought the show needed a theme song. I asked many of you directly to read the lyrics and to give your feedback via polling, as to the style of the music. You did just that and once again, thanks to all who participated!

Here are the lyrics to this upbeat goode-time song, “It’s All Goode”.

Do Murphy Goode just like you should
And you’ll be feeling fine
From NYC to Hollywood
Get your party on tonight

I’m getting crazy with my friends (it’s all goode)
It’s summer time again, hot legs keep rollin in (it’s all goode)
Its always the right time for raising glasses high (it’s all goode)
Make a toast to good friends and good times (it’s all goode)

Do Murphy Goode just like you should
And you’ll be feeling fine
From NYC to Hollywood
Get your party on tonight

Living in a purple paradise (it’s all goode)
Now you got me in the mood to play liars dice (it’s all goode)
Wild Card fell on the floor (it’s all goode)
And like a Viking I want more (it’s all goode)
I need lovely maiden to come pour (it’s all goode)

It’s all good when you’re sippin’ Murphy Goode
From the suburbs to the hood
From the beaches to the woods
From restaurants to the clubs
From the bars to the pubs
On a date with your girl
On a cruise around the world

Do Murphy Goode just like you should
And you’ll be feeling fine
From NYC to Hollywood
Get your party on tonight

Now For Something Totally Different

I had mentioned in a few viral environments that I wanted to take a break from the world of Murphy Goode today as I simply felt like I needed time away from my computer.

Well, that lasted all but a few hours and will continue after this posting. :) I’ll split it into something very personal (in a public sort of way) and another clip relevant to the MG Compaign. A clip I really dig.

First some late night music creation. It’s the kind of song lyrically intended for all those in a relationship and managing it through all sorts of weather. Mine, personally, is rocky at present and this Murphy Goode ride isn’t always so good truth me told. Such is life and nothing that a little success can’t remedy. That, I’m certain about. Now, introducing “Try”.

Thanks for listening and hopefully the message is abundantly clear. Especially to my girlfriend. Don’t bail.

Next up, a great clip from another talented Murphy Goode’s “A Really Good Job” hopeful (like me and over 1000 others) and beautiful woman that frankly, I only know as @TashiCake (wonder what that means). Great clip, super theme, groovy blog.

I’ll save my cork response for the next MGtv show perhaps. Tune the hell in and find out!

Cheers,
